The Rockwood city council will hold a special session today at 10:00 a.m. to hear from former Rockwood police officer and K-9 handler Charles Halbrich.

He is requesting a hearing before the council in an effort to have his position reinstated after being fired last November for what the police chief described as violations of policy and procedures.

The meeting is open to the public.
