ROCKWOOD E.M.S. RESPONDS TO CRASH AT GATEWAY INTERSECTION

Just after 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, emergency personnel from the Rockwood Police Department, Rockwood Fire Department, and ambulance services responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Rockwood Street and Gateway Avenue. Although both vehicles involved carried multiple occupants, no serious injuries were reported; however, one female was transported to the hospital for evaluation as a precaution.

The collision caused significant traffic restrictions in the area, resulting in affected southbound lanes and the closure of Rockwood Street from downtown to Gateway Avenue while first responders investigated and crews removed the damaged vehicles. The Rockwood Police Department is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident, and no additional information has been released at this time.

Around the same time as the traffic accident, first responders, police officers, and an ambulance were dispatched to a separate incident in the 400 block of West Wheeler Street. Initial reports indicate that an individual had allegedly suffered several cuts to their body and was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and the investigation is ongoing, with no further details currently released regarding the victim’s condition.
