The Rockwood Fire Department responded to an old structure that was on fire abandoned at the end of Caufman Street near Brickyard Springs Park late Friday around 10:30.

Upon arrival, firemen performed a quick knockdown of the structure which officials say was known to be a place where homeless people hung out.

No injuries as no one was found to be at the structure, Harriman Fire was called to assist but called back after Rockwood Firemen saw they could take care of it without any assistance from other agencies.

The investigation as to what started the fire is still underway.
