ROCKWOOD FOOD BANK CELEBRATES RE-GRAND OPENING WITH NEW WAREHOUSE DEDICATION

On October 1, the Rockwood Ministerial Association’s Food Bank, located at Front Avenue and Strang Street in Rockwood, celebrated a re-grand opening. The event drew many attendees to commemorate the occasion and dedicate a new, larger warehouse structure behind the main office along Strang Street.
The warehouse was named in honor of past volunteer Cecelia Giannandrea, who dedicated countless hours to serving those in need in Rockwood and throughout Roane County. The event featured interviews with notable attendees, including Roane County Commissioner Ron Berry, Assistant Director Janie Brosovich, and Gary Giannandrea, whose mother’s name and picture are proudly displayed on the new warehouse.
The expanded facility now stores more food, enabling the food bank to address food insecurities for more people in the county.
