ROCKWOOD MAN TRAPPED IN VEHICLE AFTER TREE AND POWER LINES COMES DOWN ON IT IN CUMBERLAND CO.
A Roane County man escaped injury Wednesday night in an accident near the 5,000 block of Highway 70 East. Trooper Jack Alderman said in his report released late today a 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo driven by 53-year-old Robert Richardson of Rockwood was heading east on the highway when a tree and powerlines came down on top of his car. Richardson was trapped inside until power was turned off allowing fire crews to get him out. Severe weather was going through the area at the time of the accident.
