City officials in Rockwood were shocked to find out that their police chief, Bill Stinnett passed away at his home earlier this morning.  Chief Stinnett has been with the police department for 37 years. According to sources, he was found unresponsive in his home in Rockwood by his wife. The medical examiner, Dr. Bodeck, was called to the home to investigate the cause of death. At this time it appears to have been due to a heart attack.

Rockwood Mayor Mike Miller more than likely will appoint someone as Interim Chief later today.
