Salem Dante Griggs was arrested and booked into the Cumberland County Jail following an alleged domestic incident on August 25, 2026. According to an affidavit filed by Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy Ron Fields, authorities responded to a call regarding an assault at a residence where Griggs had recently been living with family members.

Investigators reported that Griggs became agitated after an individual entered his room. During the altercation, Griggs allegedly threw the victim onto a bed and held a knife to their throat. When deputies arrived at the scene, Griggs reportedly admitted to holding the knife to the individual’s throat after they refused to leave his room.

Griggs has been charged with aggravated assault, a Class C felony, and appeared Cumberland County General Sessions Court today, represented by the Public Defender’s Office.
