Today is Tennessee’s Free Hunting Day. State residents may hunt today without a regular hunting license. This special day also coincides with the opening day of squirrel season. The TWRA reminds those participating that hunter education requirements are not waived during Free Hunting Day and that anyone born on or after January 1^st, 1969 is required to have successfully completed the hunter education course.
