SCAM COSTS VICTIM IN FAIRFIELD GLADE NEARLY $10,000

A citizen of Fairfield Glade fell victim to a scam. The incident report indicates the male in his 70’s received a phone call from a subject stating he was with a company that could remove a virus from the residents computer and offered a $699 life time virus protection for the computer. When it was said and done, the victim lost nearly $10,000 after sending $5,400 in cash to an address in Hollywood and $4,000 in gift cards. Authorities remind everyone not to fall for a scam of this nature.
