A gun manufacturer is moving from Florida to Blount County at an investment of $22.5 million. The Tennessean says that SSCY Industries will be building a brand new facility in Maryville that will create over 350 jobs. According to Gov. Bill Haslam, it will be the company’s primary plant and house the corporate offices. SCCY specializes in manufacturing pistols and sidearms. Its facility will occupy 150,000 square feet in the Big Springs Industrial Park. The location is expected to be operational in the first half of 2018. Gov. Bill Haslam made the announcement Wednesday.
