SCOTT COUNTY WOMAN IN HER 40S FOUND DEAD IN RV AT ROCKWOOD MARINA AFTER WELFARE CHECK
On Wednesday afternoon around 5:30 PM, Rockwood police, fire department first responders, an ambulance, and the Roane County medical examiner responded to the Rockwood Marina and RV Resort following a welfare check. A woman in her mid-to-upper 40s, reportedly a traveling nurse from Scott County, was found deceased inside an RV.
According to Rockwood Police Chief Kelly Pittman, her body was transported to the Knoxville Forensic Center for an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. At this time, authorities believe the death was likely due to natural causes, though the autopsy will confirm whether any unusual factors were involved. The woman’s name has not been released pending notification of her next of kin.
