SCREAMING MAN DOING DONUTS ON ELECTRIC CART IN WALMART ARRESTED FOR DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Crossville police responded to Walmart overnight Wednesday for a man causing a disturbance. They found 34-year-old Kyle Richard Barrier of Crossville on an electric cart, screaming and doing circles in the self-checkout area and dropping items in the cart onto the floor.

Because Barrier was causing a disturbance among other customers, police asked him to step outside. He would not answer questions posed by officers. When asked to calm down and talk to an officer, he still would not do so and attempted to walk out numerous times.

The police report states Barrier made several statements that did not make sense, and was behaving either as though he were “emotionally disturbed or possibly under the influence of some intoxicant.”

Officers asked him several times to turn around and place his hands behind his back, whereupon he began to actively resist, pulling away from officers.

When another patrol car arrived at the scene, Barrier appeared to calm down momentarily; then he resumed his refusal to comply.

It took three officers to subdue Barrier and bring him to the ground to be handcuffed.

Barrier was searched, taken to the Cumberland County Justice Center, and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
