SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING BLOUNT COUNTY TEEN IN THE SMOKIES
The search continues in a remote back-country area of the Smoky Mountains National Park for a missing Blount County teen. Austin Bohanan was last seen Friday, Aug. 11 while he was hiking off-trail in the southwestern corner of the park with his step-father. The teen got separated somehow and has not been seen since. However, the fact that he got lost was not reported to authorities until Sunday, Aug. 14, a fact that continues to be under investigation. 40 trained people from five different rescue groups including, the National Park Service, Backcountry Unit Search and Rescue (BUSAR), Blount Special Operations Response Team (BSORT), Blount County Rescue Squad, and Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, entered the search this past Saturday.
