SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING ELDERLY CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN

As of 3:30 a.m. this morning (Monday, October 14, 2019), search and rescue crews in Cumberland County continue their search for a missing elderly man with dementia. The search is in the area of Sunset Ridge where 76-year-old Pete Peterson was last seen. Crews are using tracking dogs and a helicopter to assist in the search. Peterson was wearing a white turtle neck sweater, black jogging pants and work boots. He possible had orange gloves on at the time he disappeared.  If you see this man, call 911. This is the second man to go missing in Cumberland County in 48 hours. 83-year-old Billy Hendrixson disappeared from a home on Roy McCoy Road late Friday afternoon. He was found conscious but scraped up from briars roughly four hours later.

UPDATE – 8:25 a.m. central – More manpower is being called in to aid in the search for Mr. Peterson. He has been missing now for 15 hours.
