SEARCH FOR NEW DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY TO START
The Cumberland County Board of Education last night approved the process for their search for a new director of schools.
School board member Jim Inman said last night he would like to look in the county first for qualified applicants then expand the search statewide.
A motion was made and passed to begin the process by way of publishing an ad requesting resumes for the position. Any qualified applicants can send their resumes to School Board Attorney Earl Patton, 645 South Main Street #104, Crossville, Tennessee 38555. Resumes can be sent in from March 4 to March 25, 2020.
Qualified candidates wishing to be considered for this position must submit the following:
- A formal letter of interest
- A current resume, including accomplishments by position
- A copy of the candidate’s Tennessee license and certifications
- University transcripts
- Names, addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers of five (5) professional references
Qualifications for director of schools includes, but not limited to, possessing a professional educator’s license in Tennessee, a master’ degree in education, at least three years of successful experience in school administration, and other qualifications as the school board deems desirable.
In the first week of April, the resumes will be reviewed by the school board and interviews will be scheduled.
The school board is working to get a new director of schools in place before the contract for current director of schools Janet Graham expires in June 2020.
