SELBY CHARGED AFTER BEING TASED BY CUMBERLAND COUNTY DEPUTY
Deputies in Cumberland County went to a home on Old State Highway 1 to serve an outstanding warrant Saturday morning. Officers found the suspect, 36-year-old Garry Heath Selby of Sparta, asleep behind a couch. While looking for his shoes, Selby reportedly went into a bathroom with an officer following. Selby suddenly stuck himself with a syringe needle in one of his veins. He was stunned with an officers taser then dropped the syringe. Selby later said the syringe allegedly contained a pain narcotic. He was charged with tampering with evidence and simple possession of drugs.
