SEN. ALEXANDER DEMANDS ANSWERS TO “LATE” CHIMNEY TOP FIRE REVIEW
Sen. Lamar Alexander is demanding answers to the question of why a damage review of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park/ Gatlinburg wildfires from November has not yet been released. He stressed the importance of such a report at a Senate hearing Wednesday. Alexander spoke to Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke about the report who told Alexander that “we are late on it. I expressed my priority to get it to you by the week’s end, but we are overdue on that report.” The former governor of Tennessee stated that the incident was a “traumatizing event” for those affected.
