Medics and deputies in Cumberland County went to the scene of a vehicle crash Saturday on the 500 block of Jr. Camp Road. The accident report states a 1998 GMC driven by 62-year-old Randall K. Jackson of Monterey was traveling south when he suddenly saw a deer standing next to the roadway. Jackson lost control after overcorrecting, left the asphalt and struck a large tree head on. He was airlifted to U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment of injuries considered serious.
