SEVEN VEHICLES INVOLVED IN TWO DIFFERENT ACCIDENTS ON I-40 IN ROANE CO.

A five vehicle accident on I-40 in Roane County Saturday miraculously resulted in no injuries. Troopers say a 2013 Honda Civic driven by 20-year-old Nicholas Morgan of Dandridge had to swerve partially onto the left shoulder at the 351 mile marker to avoid hitting a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway for an accident ahead. That caused a chain reaction crash involving a 2013 Toyota Camry operated by 22-year-old Sikai Wang of Knoxville, a 2016 Nissan Rogue driven by 22-year-old Zachary Ward of Church Hill, a 2015 Jeep Cherokee operated by 37-year-old Vallorie Byars of Nashville and a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 19-year-old William Hopper of Collierville. All five drivers were restrained at the time of the accident.

A separate accident just ten minutes apart near the 350 mile marker involved two vehicles. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 25-year-old Joshua M. Pair of Monterey lost control and hit a guardrail. His vehicle then collided with an oncoming 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer operated by 59-year-old Lesley M. Nave of Fairview, Tennessee. Neither driver was injured in the accident. Nave was charged with driving while a CDL was cancelled.
