Several were honored during last night’s Roane County Board of Education meeting.

The Principal of the Year award went to Angie Spurgeon of Ridge View Elementary School.

Cherokee Middle School Assistant Principal Jessica Rittenhouse was honored for her completion and participation in the Governor’s Academy for Leadership class.

James Leffew was presented a plaque to honor his retirement after 44 years of working with the Roane County School System.

High School, middle school and elementary school Teachers of the Year were also recognized.
