SEVERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN TENNESSEE GETS FEDERAL GRANT FUNDS

CROSSVILLE POLICE ARREST MAN AT DOLLAR GENERAL STORE FOR DRUG INDUCED P.I.

Today (August 25, 2020), the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) announced $22.6 million in federal grant funds to be distributed statewide from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the 2020-2021 Federal Fiscal Year.

Over 383 federal grants exceeding $22 million in total have been awarded to law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners across Tennessee. Approximately $3 million in grant funds will be allocated for statewide highway safety education and public awareness campaigns.

Here are some of the law enforcement agencies and their grants:

ANDERSON COUNTY

Anderson County Sheriff’s Department – $22,000 for police traffic services

Clinton Police Department – $10,000 for police traffic services

Oak Ridge Police Department – $42,000 for police traffic services

Rocky Top Police Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

7th Judicial District Attorney Office – $257,500 for DUI prosecution

CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Crossville Police Department – $20,000 for alcohol and impaired driving enforcement

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department – $45,000 for police traffic services

Fairfield Glade Police Department – $20,000 for senior driving safety

FENTRESS COUNTY

Fentress County Sheriff’s Department – $10,100 for police traffic services

LOUDON COUNTY

Lenoir City Police Department – $35,000 for police traffic services

Loudon County Sheriff’s Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

9th Judicial District Attorney Office – $210,200 for DUI prosecution

MCMINN COUNTY

Athens Police Department – $30,000 for police traffic services

Englewood Police Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

Etowah Police Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

McMinn County Sheriff’s Department – $25,000 for alcohol and impaired driving enforcement

Niota Police Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

MEIGS COUNTY

Decatur Police Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

Meigs County Sheriff’s Department – $20,000 for alcohol and impaired driving enforcement

MORGAN COUNTY

Morgan County Sheriff’s Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

Wartburg Police Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

OVERTON COUNTY

Livingston Police Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

Overton County Sheriff’s Department – $20,000 for alcohol and impaired driving enforcement

PICKETT COUNTY

Pickett County Sheriff’s Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

RHEA COUNTY

Dayton Police Department – $12,000 for alcohol and impaired driving enforcement

Graysville Police Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

Rhea County Emergency Management – $12,500 for emergency medical services

Rhea County Sheriff’s Department – $165,002

12th Judicial District Attorney Office – $172,500 for DUI prosecutions

ROANE COUNTY

Kingston Police Department – $15,000 for police traffic services

Oliver Springs Police Department – $15,000 for police traffic services

Roane County Sheriff’s Department – $30,000 for police traffic services

Roane State Community College – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

Rockwood Police Department – $5,000 for high visibility enforcement

WHITE COUNTY

White County Sheriff’s Department – $28,900 for alcohol and impaired driving enforcement
