SEVERE WEATHER HITS LISTENING AREA WITH FREEZING TEMPERATURES BEHIND IT

Some of the listening area experience severe weather this morning as a powerful front passed by. The Storm Prediction Center says a  barn roof was torn off in the Bradbury area of Roane County from high wind gusts. Numerous trees were reported down east of Kingston and along Old Highway 70 between Kingston and Lenoir City. Trees were also blown down on Old Guettner and Poplar Springs Road. In Oak Ridge, officials posted on Facebook that there were multiple trees down and power outages across the city. The system also resulted in a tornado warning issued late this morning for Claiborne County but no reported touchdown.

As the front passed by, it brought in much colder air. The entire listening area is under a freeze warning from 11 p.m. tonight to 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
