SHERIFF’S OFFICE HOLDS ACTIVE SHOOTER RESPONSE TRAINING SESSION

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office held an active shooter response training session for civilians last night (Monday, November 13, 2017) at Bethlehem Baptist Church. The purpose of the training is to educate the community on how to stay safe and be ready in case of an active shooter situation. The training used real 911 calls from modern mass shootings like Columbine High School and Sandy Hook Elementary to illustrate how quickly emergency situations can change, even with preparation. If you missed last night’s session, there is another one coming up. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department will host the next session at the Old Fashioned Church at 250 10th Street in Crossville on December 1, 2017, at 6:30 PM. The class will be open to the public and is free of charge.
