SHOOTING REPORTED TUESDAY MORNING ON TSU CAMPUS
Metro Nashville and Tennessee State University Campus Police are investigating a shooting which took place at the school Tuesday morning. The incident occurred outside of Boyd Hall in a parking area off Alameada Street. 911 Dispatch was alerted by a call at 9:30 AM of a report of a male subject who had been shot in the chest. The victim, who was not a student, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center with serious wounds. School Officials released the following statement:
“Tennessee State University police reported they responded to an incident on campus between 9:30 and 9:45 this morning involving a male victim who had been shot in the chest. The victim was not enrolled at the university. He has been transported to a local hospital. His condition is not known at this time. Metro Police and TSU PD are handling the investigation.”
