SHOPLIFTING INVESTIGATION LEADS TO DRUG ARREST AT ROCKWOOD WALMART

Shoplifting Investigation Leads to Drug Arrest at Walmart
On the night of September 22, 2025, Sergeant Campbell, along with Officers Garrett and Lee, responded to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart. Loss prevention personnel reported observing a female suspect engaging in multiple forms of retail theft, including skip-scanning, tag swapping, and concealing merchandise on her person.
During the investigation, officers identified that the jacket worn by the suspect had been fraudulently scanned using a swapped tag. As the suspect removed the jacket, she attempted to conceal an item in her hand. Officers recovered two zip-lock bags containing suspected narcotics
• Approximately 34.08 grams of a crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine
• Three smaller bags of suspected Methamphetamine, each weighing approximately 1.94 grams, and one weighing 0.52 grams
• A clear bag containing approximately 7.24 grams of white powder believed to be Heroin
• A small bag containing approximately 0.43 grams of brown powder also believed to be Heroin
The suspect was taken into custody and faces multiple charges related to theft and possession of controlled substances.
Thanks to the swift response of our officers and Walmart’s loss prevention team, a significant quantity of dangerous drugs has been removed from our community. The Rockwood Police Department remains committed to protecting our citizens and maintaining public safety.
