SINGLE-VEHICLE ROLLOVER CRASH ON I-40 ON SUNDAY IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at approximately 2:04 PM, a single-vehicle rollover crash occurred on westbound Interstate 40 near the 317-mile marker.
A white 2003 Ford EPR (likely an Expedition or similar SUV) driven by 68-year-old Gary Davis of Tennessee was traveling westbound when it veered off the roadway to the right. The vehicle left the pavement, entered a ditch, and rolled over multiple times before coming to rest upside down on its roof on the right shoulder, facing east.
Both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Davis and his 77-year-old passenger sustained injuries and were transported for medical treatment.
Emergency responders handled the incident as an injury motor vehicle accident.
