SPARTA POLICE AND T.H.P. LAUNCH “OPERATION SAFE STREETS”

From the White County Sheriff’s Office:
Sparta, TN – In response to a growing number of citizen complaints involving excessive speeding and distracted driving, the Sparta Police Department, in collaboration with the White County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol, is launching Operation Safe Streets: Bockman Way.
This joint traffic enforcement initiative will focus on improving roadway safety and driver compliance along Bockman Way, a heavily traveled corridor in the city of Sparta. The operation will involve increased patrols, visible enforcement presence, and targeted traffic stops aimed at deterring dangerous driving behaviors.
Officers from all three agencies will be actively monitoring for violations such as speeding, texting while driving, improper lane usage, seatbelt, and failure to yield. The increased enforcement effort is designed not only to hold violators accountable, but also to promote awareness and safer habits behind the wheel.
Motorists traveling on Bockman Way are urged to remain alert, obey posted speed limits, and avoid any distractions while driving.
Operation Safe Streets: Bockman Way will continue throughout the coming weeks, with periodic updates released to the public as the operation progresses.
