Following her arrival at the Roane County jail late Wednesday night, Roane County deputies gave 59-year-old Brenda Heath a biohazard bag to spit in, because she kept spitting on the floor. Heath, who had been arrested for public intoxication, looked up at the deputy who handed her the bag and spat at him, striking him on his hand, watch and forearm.

Heath was subsequently charged with assault involving a law-enforcement officer.
