A standoff between an armed suspect and law enforcement in Lake Tansi ended peacefully this evening. Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox says 20-year-old Kevin Brown faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies responded to an initial call of threats made to family members at a home on Oswego Road. Brown reportedly went out of the residence to a vehicle to get a firearm and went back into the dwelling where he barricaded himself inside. Sheriff Cox said officers managed to get Browns mother and sister out safely. After negotiations, Brown surrendered and was arrested. He was transported to the Cumberland County jail.
