STOLEN BOAT RECOVERED AFTER CALL FROM CONCERNED JAMESTOWN WOMAN
Monday night, Cumberland County deputies spoke with a Fentress County woman about a pontoon boat her son had purchased for $800. Thinking the sale price was too good to be true, and figuring it might have been stolen, the woman contacted TWRA. Officials there told her the pontoon boat was registered to a woman in Lake Tansi.
Deputies spoke with the owner, who said she most definitely was not trying to sell her boat, and she did not know the man who sold it to the other woman’s son.
Fentress County sheriff’s deputies confirmed the registration and took possession of the boat, which is valued at approximately $4,000. There is a suspect in the case and an investigation is ongoing.
