STONE AND HARGIS CHARGED WITH DRUG VIOLATION IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A Cumberland County deputy pulled over a vehicle on Highway 70 North near Little Brad’s for the driver reportedly failing to maintain his lane of travel. While speaking with the driver, 49-year-old Gary Dewayne Hargis of Crossville, the officer allegedly smelled an odor of a drug. A consent search of a passenger, 24-year-old Joshua Miciah Stone of Monterey, reportedly revealed drugs and just over $1,200 in currency. The arrest report states a search of the vehicle resulted in deputies finding an electronic weighing scale and meth. A search warrant was issued for Stone’s cell phone which officers allegedly saw several messages from people asking for illegal drugs. Stone was arrested for manufacture, sale and delivery of meth. Stone and Hargis were both charged with simple possession of drugs.
