STORM DAMAGE IN ROANE COUNTY
Early Sunday morning, storms and high winds ended up causing damage throughout Roane County.
Rockwood Electric Utility worked from Sunday morning up into the evening and today to bring power back to several homes in Rockwood, Kingston, and areas in Cumberland and Morgan counties.
The high winds and saturated ground are currently blamed for the numerous power line outages.
An elderly woman was trapped inside her home after a tree landed on her house on Old Highway 70 in midtown. Rescue crews and sheriff’s deputies were able to get her out of her home without any harm.
Interstate 40 near Buttermilk Road. Would see a tree fall onto the interstate, resulting in a temporary blockage that has since been removed.
