School starts this morning (Thursday, August 1, 2019) in Cumberland County. It will be a short day for students. They will be released at 10 a.m. The first full day for students will be Monday (August 5, 2019). Motorists are asked to be extra careful for kids waiting on the school bus, walking to school, and going home from school. Law enforcement will have extra patrols at the schools and especially in active school zones. Roane County students will return to class August 7 for a short day and August 9 for their first full day.
