SULLIVAN MOCKS OFFICER, SAYS “PETTY” COP WILL LOOK “STUPID” NEXT YEAR

Late Wednesday night, when Crossville police conducted a traffic stop, it took them several minutes to identify the driver, 38-year-old Candi Lutitia Sullivan of Crossville, who appeared overly nervous. Sullivan had no identification on her and, according to the arresting officer’s report, “kept stating that I was hassling her.”

Officers found a glass pipe in plain view beside the center console. Sullivan attempted to hide the pipe, from which she repeatedly insisted she only smokes tobacco.

Officers determined the pipe smelled of freshly burnt marijuana, but she continued to insist she only smokes tobacco in that particular pipe; she also continued to insist officers were “hassling” her and they had no right to search her vehicle.

The search yielded a baggy of marijuana, found just inches from where the pipe had been.

Sullivan was arrested for simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest report further states, “Candi stated that I was being petty and it’s going to be really funny when marijuana is legal in one year from now. Candi stated at that point, I will look stupid for arresting her for marijuana. At that time, I made Candi aware that as of 05/15/2019 marijuana is still illegal in the state of Tennessee.”
