SUNBRIGHT SHOOTING SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
The man suspected of firing a gun in the vicinity of Sunbright School resulting in it’s closing Thursday morning, turned himself in to authorities over the weekend. According to reports, police were dispatched to the area at 5 AM Thursday as a rolling domestic dispute over a possible drug overdose. During the incident which started in a parked car outside of the school, the suspect, identified as Russell Simpson, ran into the woods where a gun was heard discharging. Officials decided to close the school for classes that day as a manhunt for Simpson began. He was arrested Saturday morning and charged with domestic assault.
