SUSPECT ACC– USED OF SHOOTING KPD OFFICER HAS PRELIMINARY HEARING RESCHEDULED
The preliminary hearing for a man accused of shooting a Knoxville police officer has been rescheduled. Ronnie Wilson was arrested in Blount County after investigators say he shot KPD Officer Jay Williams near Target on Washington Pike.
The police officer was hit in the shoulder and was taken to UT Medical Center. He has recovered. Wilson faces charges for attempted first-degree murder of a police officer. His preliminary hearing is set for March 13 pending a mental evaluation.
