SUSPECT CHARGED IN MORRISTOWN HIT-AND-RUN

Morristown Police say they have charged a Talbott man in connection with Saturday night’s hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian outside the Olive Garden restaurant on East Morris Boulevard.

Authorities say the unidentified pedestrian was crossing the road near Terrace Lane around 9:30 p.m. when he was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado. The driver, 57-year-old Ricky Perry, then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to U.T. Medical Center, where he was treated for broken bones and other injuries.

Perry later turned himself in to police. He’s charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury, and failure to immediately report an accident. Perry was placed under $25,000 bond and taken to the Hamblen County jail.
