Crossville police, Cumberland County deputies and the Crossville SWAT team were called to an apartment at 464 Webb Avenue earlier this afternoon after a subject discharged a firearm and barricaded in the dwelling.

Crossville Police Chief Jessie Brooks told 105.7 News at the scene officers tried to communicate with the suspect by several means but with no success. The suspect, who was held up in a back bedroom, surrendered after authorities deployed tear gas inside the apartment in an effort to end the standoff.
