SUSPECT WANTED IN SEVIER COUNTY ARRESTED ON MATTHEWS LANE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
Early this morning, Cumberland County deputies were called to a home on Matthews Lane, where a woman caller said she was afraid to leave the residence because a man had knives and was going to kill her.
The woman ran outside when deputies arrived and said her boyfriend, 29-year-old Thomas Casey Hiott, was inside, asleep, and they’d been in an altercation.
Deputies found Hiott asleep in the home and asked his name. He gave a false name and date of birth. In the course of the investigation, deputies learned Hiott has multiple outstanding warrants in Sevier County.
There was no evidence of an assault by either party; the woman said she just wanted him out of her house and he refused to leave.
Hiott was charged with criminal impersonation; he was held on the active warrants, pending a bond hearing.
