T.H.P. PARTICIPATES IN RESCUE MISSION IN WHITE COUNTY
Yesterday, the Tennessee Highway Patrol Special Operations Unit was requested to assist White County EMA and the White County Sheriff’s Department with a rescue mission. A female had fallen down a 40 foot cliff Monday. Kayakers later heard the woman calling for help. THP Aviation Lieutenant Brad Lund, Troopers Brian Ramsey and Jason Johnson flew the new THP Bell 429 rescue helicopter to the area, where they located the subject. Troopers safely secured and hoisted her to safety. Lieutenant Lund transported the woman to an awaiting LifeForce helicopter. She was treated for injuries at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. The hoist mission was over 75 foot and was located on a ridge with minimal room to operate. (Photo courtesy of the Tennessee Highway Patrol)
