TAYLOR CHARGED WITH RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT AFTER STRIKING POLICE CRUISER

Crossville police responded to Bootleggers Bar Saturday in reference to a fight involving three men.

One officer observed a white SUV driven by 29-year-old Justin Matthew Taylor of Crossville stopped in the roadway near the business in the wrong lane then sped forward almost hitting the patrol cruiser. The report states Taylor continued on Highway 70 East and struck Patrolman Peters police car who was also responding.

Taylor reportedly continued and went off the road contacting a sign and a building before coming to a stop.

Law enforcement allegedly smelled an odor of alcohol coming from Taylor. He was arrested and charged with DUI, evading arrest, leaving the scene of an accident and two counts of reckless endangerment.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol was called in to take the accident report since it involved a Crossville Police Department vehicle.
