Anderson County’s Mayor has asked the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to aid the FBI in probing a server breach at the Courthouse that was reported in August of 2016. Although the investigation has been ongoing, the scope and nature of the breach has not been divulged to the public. It is still unclear as to what type of information has been compromised, county employees have been advised to monitor their accounts for any suspicious or unauthorized activity. A report on the subject by IT workers found that administrative and user passwords were weak and followed a known sequence.
