TBI ASKING FOR PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING HOMICIDE CASE

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Sevierville Police Department are asking for the public’s help identifying two persons of interest in a robbery/homicide investigation. Officers say on December 20, 2015, Sevierville police responded to the Great Smokies Craft Fair and Flea Market, where they found a 71-year-old male victim who had apparently been struck in the head with a baseball bat. The suspects were described as a white male and a white female with heavily bleached hair. Officers say the suspects took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and fled in a vehicle, striking the victim with the vehicle as they fled. The vehicle was described as a green Ford sedan, either a Contour or a Taurus, with heavy damage to the driver’s door. Police said the victim died January 18, 2016 from injuries sustained in the attack. Police released a sketch of the female person of interest in the investigation. Anyone with information regarding the crime is asked to call the TBI tip line at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463) or the Sevierville Police Department at 865-453-7296 or 865-453-0789.
