TBI IDENTIFIES VICTIM IN CLAIBORNE COUNTY OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING

Police in Claiborne County shot and killed a Sevierville woman Sunday afternoon during a foot chase that followed a vehicle pursuit.
Police say 37-year-old Elizabeth Ann Stropp pulled a weapon while fleeing. Tennessee Highway Patrol officers in Bean Station had attempted to stop Stropp’s vehicle, the subject of a BOLO advisory. Stropp failed to stop and instead led them on a pursuit into Claiborne County; she stopped along Lone Mountain Road, then fled on foot. Troopers followed.
Stropp pulled a handgun and troopers fired. She died at the scene.
Two other people were taken into custody following the pursuit.
