TBI INVESTIGATING DEATH OF MCMINN COUNTY MAN AFTER ATTEMPTED ARREST

An investigation is underway after a man whom deputies were trying to arrest died after a deputy used a stun gun.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a McMinn County man after his attempted arrest.

Agents say the incident recently happened at a home on County Road 360 in Niota.

Deputies were serving an order of protection to 43-year-old Christopher Kent Graham.

Initial reports state there was an altercation between Graham and the deputies. One officer used a taser on Graham.

He became unresponsive. Graham was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Agents did not release any further information on the case.
