TBI: “MORE CONCERNED THAN EVER” TO FIND SUMMER WELLS

The TBI held a press conference this afternoon and said they are “more concerned than ever” to find 5-year-old Summer Wells.

“We will not quit until we find Summer Wells,” said Captain Tim Coup, who is overseeing ground search efforts.

Authorities are also calling on property owners in the area to check any places on their property where a child might hide.

“We need residents in the upper Beech Creek community and in Hawkins County to go back as soon as possible and check their entire property. Especially any outbuildings, barns, or anywhere a child could hide,” said Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson.

The search effort has now involved over 70 agencies and ground crews have covered around 2,400 acres as of today. Summer Wells was first reported missing Tuesday, June 15, 2021. A statewide Amber Alert was issued for her the following day.
