TBI NOW ASSISTING FENTRESS COUNTY DEPUTIES IN SEARCH FOR SHOOTING SUSPECT

The Fentress County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee is urging residents south of Jamestown to avoid the area, lock their doors, and stay inside while law enforcement searches for a woman described as armed and dangerous following a shooting Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. along Whippoorwill Lane, prompting authorities to ask people in the nearby Whippoorwill Lane, Quail Run, and Crooked Creek areas to remain vigilant and secure their homes.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is assisting the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation at the request of 8th Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler.

The suspect is believed to be on foot. She is described as approximately 5’5” tall, with short blonde hair, and may be wearing a red t-shirt.
