TDOT CHECKS BRIDGE INTEGRITY AFTER TRACTOR-TRAILER CRASH ON I-40
Authorities in Putnam County had to bring in the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation after a violent crash on I-40 Tuesday night. The wreck, which involved a tractor-trailer hitting the bridge in the area of mile marker 286, tied up a portion of the interstate for over 12 hours during the cleanup. The Tennessee Highway Patrol had to bring in TDOT crews to examine the bridge to check for possible loss of integrity. They said that the bridge inspectors found no structural damage. The driver of the semi suffered non-life threatening injuries.
