The Tennessee Department of Transportation gave 105.7 News an update today on the road project on Highway 68 on Grandview Mountain in Rhea County. The geotechnical contractor will be finishing the slope stabilization work over the next 2 to 3 weeks. Once the stabilization work is complete, TDOT crews will remove any part of the roadway that is damaged beyond repair and prepare the roadway for paving. Once the roadway has been built back up and is ready for paving, crews will pave the roadway and install pavement markings and guardrail then remove the temporary signals. Weather permitting, the project should be completed late next month (February 2020).
