The Roane County Commission will ask Tennessee lawmakers by way of a resolution to make director of schools an elected position. The county commission recently passed the matter 11 to 3 during their meeting. Some commissioners said the people of the county want the chance to vote for a director of schools instead of having one appointed. No word yet on when the Tennessee House of Representatives will hear the resolution from Roane County.
